Creating a digital portfolio was made possible using Adobe Express, a simple yet creative process. Being present on the internet is a key to sustaining creative work in todays digital age. (Artquest, 2024)
Inspiration/Influences
Peers:
Lucas Bayliss: https://lucasbayliss.com
Lucas Bayliss is a BA Photojournalism and Documentary Photography student at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts, London, whom I discovered through collaborative projects. I took inspiration from his modern and graphically appealing approach to website design.
Daniel Martin: https://danielmarin.me
Daniel Martin is a BA sound art student at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts, London, who is in the same year as me. He presented his website, receiving feedback in class, which influenced the decision-making process when building mine. The most influential feedback he received was to design the website with the order being a direct result of how the website is received and experienced through users; therefore, the first impression of the website is chosen to showcase the work in an order of how you would like users to experience it. Removing the click-through rate is important, as retention is low in the digital age.
Artists:
Benedict Drew: https://benedictdrew.com
Benedict’s website uses modern bold graphic styles creating contemporary user experience which influenced my choice of text, image deign and colour. The user experience is key to creating a impressive first impression.
Nicole Huillier: https://nicolelhuillier.com
I was inspired by her use of including animation to the navigation of the website. I am influenced by it’s highly professional and impressive contemporary user experience.
